Known as the Queen of Four Kingdoms for her family's claims to Naples, Jerusalem, Aragon, and Sicily, she defended the Anjou legacy with determination, serving as regent after her husband's death.
During the Hundred Years' War, Yolande sheltered the French Dauphin Charles, secured his marriage to her daughter Marie, and allied resources from Anjou and Provence that enabled Joan of Arc's campaign to liberate Orléans and crown Charles at Reims.
