In the late 15th century, the Joseon Dynasty was plagued by internal strife and external threats, until the birth of a great ruler changed the course of history. That ruler was King Sejong, who led the dynasty to a prosperous and glorious era. From the moment he took the throne, King Sejong had ambitious plans for his reign. He launched successful military campaigns to defeat pirates and expand the kingdom's territory. He also devoted himself to promoting cultural development, creating the Korean script and publishing The Correct Sounds for the Instruction of the People, which had a profound impact on Korean history and elevated Korean civilization to new heights. To honor King Sejong's achievements, he was posthumously given the title of "the Great".
